The Prince Albert Police Service (PAPS) arrested two suspects last week after finding weapons during a traffic stop.

At about 1:15 a.m. on Thursday, officers searched a vehicle that was parked on the 600 block of 18th Street West—they found a rifle, hunting knife and machete.

A male occupant refused arrest; however, officers were able to get him under control and successfully take him into custody.

The 27-year-old man from Prince Albert is charged with two counts of assault of an officer with intent to resist lawful arrest.

Another man, who is 41-years-old and from Prince Albert, is facing three charges of possession of a weapon for a purpose dangerous to public peace and two firearms-related offences.

They answered to these charges in Prince Albert Provincial Court on Friday.
