Province reports 307 new cases, no new deaths, in Sunday update

Health officials reported no new deaths due to COVID-19 for the first time since Jan. 3, along with 307 new cases.

Updated regional breakdowns were unavailable due to staffing issues. The provincial government said this was an unexpected one-day delay, and proised to include full details in Monday’s summary.

As of Jan. 10, healthcare workers have administered 7,929 COVID vaccines, 110 of which were administered on Saturday in Prince Albert. Some vaccines administered in the Far North were not included in Sunday’s numbers.

A total of 476 vaccines have been administered in Prince Albert, along with 809 in the Far North East, 596 in the Far North West, and 81 in Far North Central.

The North East Zone, which includes Nipawin, Melfort and Tisdale, has had 97 doses administered, all of which came on Saturday.

A total of 187 people are still in hosptial with the virus, including 31 in intensive care.
