Health officials reported 36 new COVID-19 cases on Tuesday, along with 87 recoveries and no new deaths.

North Central reported two new cases, both of which were in Prince Albert, and 18 recoveries. The province also removed one case from the North Central total after the patient was deemed to be an out-of-province resident. That was one of 21 cases removed from Saskatchewan’s total.

There are now 57 active cases in North Central, 33 of which are in Prince Albert. North Central Zone 1 has 19 and Zone 3 has five.

The Far North East reported three new cases on Tuesday. Those were the only new cases reported in the entire far north.

The Far North East reported no new recoveries, but had one case removed after the province discovered a patient who tested positive in the region was not from Saskatchewan. As of Monday there are 14 active cases in the area.

The Far North West reported three recoveries, bringing their active case total to 33. Far North Central continues to have no active cases.

The North East reported no new cases and three more recoveries. There are now 14 active cases in the region.

Saskatchewan currently has 639 active cases. That’s the lowest total since Oct. 25, 2020, when there were 619.

The Saskatoon Zone has the highest number of active cases with 157, followed by the Regina Zone with 153, and the North West with 59.

The province has reported an average of 67 new cases per day over the past week. Roughly 69 per cent of residents age 12 and older have received their first vaccine dose.

Saskatchewan hit the one-million vaccine dose mark on Monday. A total of 1,005,275 vaccines have been given since the rollout program began. More than 295,000 residents are fully vaccinated, including 22,113 in North Central.
