A pair of impressive rides gave Jared Parsonage the first win of the 2021 PBR Canada season this weekend.

The Maple Creek product had an aggregate score of 176.5 to win the Tanner Byrne Invitational on Saturday at the Byrne Ranch.

After opening out the event with an 88.5-point ride on Turn Back Time, Parsonage followed that up with an 88-point showing on Finning Lil Shorty in the championship round.

Two-time PBR Canada champion Zane Lambert of Ponoka, Alta. finished in second spot, thanks in large part to a 91-point ride on Thursday night on Catch My Drift.

Calgary’s Nick Tetz, Major’s Todd Chotowetz and Australia’s Callum Miller rounded out the top five.

The event, which was held to a limited crowd, will be aired nationally on Cowboy Channel Canada on Thursday and Friday at 5 p.m.
