P.A. Pride Week committee hosts American poet for Aboriginal Storytelling Month event

When Jennifer Lenny Brockman heard that American artist and poet Adelina Anthony would be performing in Saskatoon this week as part of a weeklong Aborigianal Storytelling Month event partly hosted by the Out Saskatoon LGBTQ resource centre, she reached out to organizers to bring Anthony to Prince Albert.

“I saw a poster from Out Saskatoon about Adelina coming up and so I figured it was a great opportunity, since she was so close, to be able to come here to Prince Albert,” said Lenny Brockman, Prince Albert Pride Week organizer.

The P.A. Pride Week committee reached out to Out Saskatoon and the P.A.-based Indigenous People’s Artists Collective (IPAC) for support.

“We’re really grateful or that because there is no way, with our small, little committee, that we would have been able to do it. So Out Saskatoon and the Indigenous People’s Artists Collective were instrumental in being able to bring her here,” Lenny Brockman said.
