The Prince Albert Police Service is investigating several incidents of people using counterfeit $100 bills at local businesses.

According to a news release, numerous businesses in the city have sent in reports on the issue over the past few weeks.

“The bills appear to be of poor quality, although those in possession of the bills may not realize they are fake,” read the release.

Police are asking the public and business owners to thoroughly check bills before accepting them.

Anyone who suspects a bill may be counterfeit is asked to call Prince Albert police at 306-953-4222.
