Police find suspects sleeping in stolen vehicle

Police tracking a stolen vehicle found two people sleeping inside it with a stash of drugs.

Officers were responding to a stolen vehicle complaint on Thursday, just before 11 a.m. The complaint took them to a business on the 400 Block of Marquis Road, where they found the vehicle on the west side of a parking lot.

Inside, they found two people, a 37-year-old man and a 24-year-old woman, asleep.

The officers arrested both and searched the vehicle, turning up a small bag of suspected methamphetamine and an eyeglass case containing pills. They also found a needle in the woman’s purse containing a substance believed to be methamphetamine.

Both suspects were charged with possession of methamphetamine and Ritalin. The man was also charged with possession of a stolen vehicle. The pair was due to appear in provincial court Friday.
