A 22-year-old man from La Loche has been charged with second-degree murder in the death of a teen.
At 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, La Loche RCMP were called to a recreation area in the community for an assault.
Witnesses said two adults were involved and another man got injured when he tried to jump in and prevent further harm.
One man died of his injuries shortly after he was transported to hospital. No one else required medical treatment.
Jones Herman, 22, was arrested shortly after midnight on Sunday and is charged with second-degree murder. He made his first court appearance in La Loche Provincial Court on Monday morning.
The victim is identified as 19-year-old Dawson Herman.
The Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crimes Unit and La Loche RCMP are still investigating.
