Prince Albert Northcote MLA Nicole Rancourt questioned Advanced Education Minister Bronwyne Eyre on the future of NORTEP/NORPAC Wednesday.

“Can the minister commit to supporting the program so it can remain successful, as it has for the past 40 years?” she asked.

“This is an important decision for all students,” Eyre responded.

“I appreciate the role NORTEP has played in this process, and I realize it’s an emotional issue. … The goal is to provide a well governed, administratively sound management as well as equitable opportunities and access for all northern students. Solid, high-quality teaching education so a student anywhere in the province can teach, work and thrive in their community.”

The Ministry of Advanced Education also responded to follow-up questions from the Herald Wednesday.
