Four facing attempted murder charges following emergency alert in Montreal Lake Cree Nation

RCMP have arrested two more suspects in relation to a firearms call that prompted an emergency alert in Montreal Lake Cree Nation.

On the afternoon of Oct. 12, RCMP responded to a gun fired outside of a home in the community. One man was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Deon Smith, 27, and Justice Bird, 22, were initially arrested. As police continued to investigate, they also arrested Ben Bird, 22, and Lloyd Bird, 28.

All four suspects are facing attempted murder, aggravated assault, robbery, and vaious weapons charges.

The investigation included the Prince Albert General Investigation Section, Prince Albert Forensic Identification Services, Prince Albert Warrant Enforcement and Suppression Team, La Ronge and Meadow Lake Crime Reduction Teams, and Police Dog Services.
