Saskatchewan Rivers Dragons and Saskatoon Goats play to 5-5 draw

The Prince Albert Saskatchewan Rivers Dragons are keeping their undefeated streak alive.

The Dragons came from behind to tie the Saskatoon Goats 5-5 at Max Clunie Field on Thursday night.

It was the first game at home for the Dragons, who entered the match with a 2-0 record thanks to a pair of wins on the road.

“There were a lot of good things on the field, but we made a lot of mistakes,” Dragons coach Darcy Murphy said after the match.

“We were flat in a lot of ways but we kind of made up for it by being a little aggressive. A tie is better than a loss but I’d like to carrying the momentum into the week and get better for our game next week.”

The Goats dominated the first half, with much of the action taking place in P.A.’s end. Despite a strong defensive effort by the home team, Saskatoon broke through to score the game’s first try. The Goats carried a 5-0 lead into the second half.
