A police service dog helped track down a teen suspected of breaking into the Prince Albert Golf and Curling Club.

The break-in was reported to the Prince Albert Police Service in the early morning hours Monday. Officers responded at about 2:30 a.m. and reviewed surveillance footage that showed a suspect entering the club and stealing food.

They spotted two men running across the street near the corner of 21 Street East and 6 Avenue East, according to a police press release. They blocked off the area and brought in Police Service Dog Daxa to help track the suspect. She brought police to a young man matching the surveillance footage.

The suspect, aged 16, was arrested and charged with break and enter.
