Stolen vehicle registration found on cyclist

An officer on patrol June 23 at 4:15 a.m. stopped a man known to police who was seen riding a bicucle in the 300 Block of 13th Avenue East.

The man had outstanding warrants, and was arrested and searched.

Police found a baton in his backpack, a glass-breaking tool, two flash lights, gloves and a folding knife. Police also found a vehicle registration for a Toyota 4Runner and a vehicle manual for a Jeep.

Police located the owners of the vehcile registration and manual and confirmed the vehicles had been broken into and gone through. Police also confirmed the bicycle the man was riding whne stopped had been stolen from one of the residences.

A 23-year-old man is charged with carrying a concealed weapon possession of break-in tools, two counts of possession of stolen property and breach of a court order.

He was due in court June 26.
