RCMP investigating shooting in Lac La Ronge as a homicide

Saskatchewan RCMP are investigating the shooting death of 26-year-old Jeremy Bird on the Lac La Ronge Indian Band.

According to a news release, someone fired several shots into a camper parked next to a residence on Mikisiw Drive at about 3:30 a.m. on Thursday.

Five men were inside, including Bird.

The autopsy last week determined his death was a homicide.

Police are seeking information from anyone in the area of the Jonas Roberts Memorial Community Centre or Mikisiw Drive on the Lac La Ronge Indian Band on Wednesday evening to Thursday morning. Officers continue to speak with people on the Lac La Ronge Indian Band and the nearby communities of Air Ronge and La Ronge.
