Health officials reported no new deaths and 312 new COVID-19 cases on Thursday, including 39 new cases in North Central.
They also reported more than 2,000 vaccines administered on Wednesday and Thursday, bringing the provincial total up to nearly 12,000.
Prince Albert reported 18 of North Central’s 39 new cases. There are now 317 active cases in the city. North Central Zone 1 reported seven and North Central Zone 3 reported 14.
North Central has 626 active cases in total, second only to Saskatoon with 765. Regina has the third highest case total with 580. The North Central total includes six cases that were announced previously, but did not have residency information.
The three far north regions reported a combined 51 new cases on Thursday, 29 of which were in the Far North East. The Far North West reported 14 and Far North Central reported eight. There are now 421 active cases in the Far North East, 228 in the Far North West, and 63 in Far North Central.
The North East, which includes Melfort, Nipawin and Tisdale, reported 7 new cases on Thursday. Five of those cases were in North East Zone 1. The rest were in North East Zone 2.
There are 206 people in hospital with the virus, including 33 patients in intensive care.
There are now 3,859 active cases across the province, and 15,264 patients who have recovered.Health officials administered 664 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine on Jan. 12 and 1,393 on Jan. 13 for a two day total of 2,057. That includes 434 doses administered in North Central, 251 in the Far North West, 41 in the Far North East, 31 in Far North Central and 208 in the North East.
Thursday’s provincial total also includes 192 doses administered in the far north on Jan. 12 and 13. Those cases were reported too late to be included in the COVID update on those days.
Health officials have administered 11,985 vaccines since the rollout began. That includes 1,258 Pfizer doses in North Central, 956 Moderna doses in the Fawr North West, 257 Moderna doses in Far North Central, 1,261 doses in the Far North East, and 715 Moderna doses in the North East.
