Police have charged a 42-year-old man after he threatened a woman with a handgun and later was caught in a drive-thru.

At about 3:50 a.m. on Wednesday, officers went to the apartment building on the Unit block of Bryant Place for a weapon call.

The suspect allegedly entered the victim’s apartment uninvitedly and threatened her life with a handgun.

When police got there, the man had already fled; however, they tracked him down in a drive-thru on 2nd Avenue West and 32nd Street—near Tim Hortons and Burger King—shortly after.

They found a concealed BB gun during his arrest.

The accused is charged with being at large of his undertaking to stay at an approved residence during his curfew and to not attend the victim’s residence except for arranged family visits, as well as possession of a concealed weapon.

The man appeared in Prince Albert Provincial Court later on Wednesday.
