Red and blue pinstripes line the sides, LED light strips run along the hood and top, jewels dot the empty spaces and decos of wildlife plaster the doors. Sound familiar?
If so, you’ve probably seen Edward Lubky driving around Prince Albert in his pimped out Chevrolet Cruze.
The retired auto body repairman worked in the industry for over 20 years, seeing customized cars coming in and out of the shop.
“I always liked custom cars but I don’t have (one) so this is the next best thing,” he said.
Lubky started customizing his car in 2016 by watching YouTube videos on how to DIY car accents.
In total he spent about $200 on his car, he said.
“I just wanted to jazz up my car to have something unique.”
His car definitely catches people’s eyes. As we were taking pictures, heads turned with every car that passed.
“People think it’s great.” Lubky said he’ll go to the store and return to people taking pictures of his car in the parking lot.
Last year he began putting his car on display in the Walmart parking lot, since he can’t drive on regular roads with his LED lights on at night.
He usually goes once night falls and turns on all the lights on his car. Then, he’ll stand near a lamp post for 30 to 45 minutes soaking in his years of hard work.
“Besides gardening and looking after my flowers, I just wanted to do something different.”
Currently, Lubky is on the search for spinning wheel covers.
