The Saskatchewan Serious Incident Response Team (SIRT) is investigating an in-custody death in Pelican Narrows.
At about 2:50 p.m. on Sunday, RCMP responded to a man in medical distress who was in custody at the Pelican Narrows detachment.
According to a news release, police began life-saving efforts until paramedics arrived, but the man was declared dead at the hospital.
SIRT will look into the RCMP’s interaction with the man and the circumstances leading to his death.
