Investigation nets large amount of marijuana

Four people have been arrested after an investigation found more than six pounds of marijuana and a smaller quantity of psychedelic drugs.

On Wednesday, members of the Prince Albert Combined Forces Special Investigation Unit seized 6.48 pounds of marijuana, as well as 104 plants, and 25.7 grams of psilocybin, the active ingredient in magic mushrooms.

The officers also found 14 firearms.

The four suspects are charged with producing marijuana and multiple weapons offences. They are due to appear in Saskatchewan Provincial Court in Prince Albert on August 8.

The special investigative unit includes officers of the RCMP and Prince Albert Police Service, who join forces to tackle gangs and drugs.
