A week after he was selected in the first round of the WHL Bantam Draft, Terrell Goldsmith is officially a member of the Prince Albert Raiders.
The 14-year-old blueliner from Fort St. James, B.C., who was chosen with the 15th overall pick last Wednesday, signed a standard player agreement with the defending East Division champions Wednesday morning.
Goldsmith suited up for the Delta Hockey Academy’s bantam prep green team in the CSSHL last season and had 19 points in 23 games.
“I think he’s just getting going in terms of where he is as a player,” Raiders general manager Curtis Hunt said to the WHL’s Taylor Rocca in an interview that was been posted on the league’s website earlier this week.
“We like his attitude and we like the way that he plays…with that edge and physical element. He’s not limited to that though as he can move pucks and go up and down the ice really well.”
Since the draft, the following first round picks have joined Goldsmith in signing with WHL clubs.

Raiders Flashback
With the one-year anniversary of the Raiders’ second Ed Chynoweth Cup title on the horizon, the team is allowing fans to relive their run to the league championship.
Starting on Sunday, the club will stream each of the seven games of the 2019 WHL final against the Vancouver Giants on their YouTube page.
The broadcasts, which will get underway at 7 p.m., will air on the following dates:

Around the WHL
The Victoria Royals made a major shakeup in their hockey operations department on Wednesday morning as they announced that Cameron Hope would not be returning in his roles as president, general manager and alternate governor for next season.
Hope, who took over the Royals’ general manager position from Marc Habscheid in 2012 and was promoted to president two years later, had a 316-205-52 regular season record during his eight-season run in B.C.’s capital city.
The Royals made the playoffs in each year of his tenure, but never made it past the second round.
The closest that they came was during the 2015-16 campaign as the Scotty Munro Memorial Trophy winners lost a heartbreaking Game 7 overtime affair to the Kelowna Rockets, which saw the Royals holding a 2-1 lead with 0.2 seconds left on the clock when the Rockets tied things up.
The team, who recently signed head coach Dan Price to a two-year contract extension, has yet to announce a replacement for Hope.
