Drug-impaired driver caught on Tuesday call

Prince Albert police charged a 20-year-old man after he was caught drug-impaired driving on Tuesday night.

At about 11:29 p.m., officers responded to a Reported Impaired Driver (RID). The report explained the vehicle was travelling east on Marquis Road at excessive speeds and had hit a side embankment.

Patrol located and pulled over the suspect vehicle.

The driver had visible signs of impairment, admitting to marijuana and prescription drug use.

A Drug Recognition Expert (DRE) conducted an exam back at the police station.

The man has been charged with impaired driving.

He’s since been released and is scheduled to appear in Prince Albert Provincial Court on Jan. 19.
