Deschambault Lake man charged with attempted murder

Two men were hospitalized and a 21-year-old is in police custody after a stabbing incident in Deschambault Lake Saturday.

On December 29, Deschambault Lake RCMP was notified that two men had been severely stabbed in a residence of Deschambault Lake and were being transported to the medical clinic by local residents.

Officers launched an investigation, and learned that a man allegedly went to the residence to assault one of the thre men inside. One victim was stabbed multiple times in the face, neck, arm, abck and chest while another stabbed in the shoulder while trying to stop the attack.

Police found Winston Wayne Keifler Michel in a resdence and arrested him without incident. The 21-year-old resident of Deschambault Lake was charged with attempted muurder, aggravated assault, assault with a weapon, disguise with intent to commit an offence and sesisting or obstructing a peace officer.

He is due in La Ronge court Friday at 9 a.m.

Both victims were taken to the hospital and have since been released.
