The Prince Albert Raiders have added a forward to their prospect pool.

On Wednesday, the team announced that they had signed 17-year-old Saskatoon product Cole Nagy to a standard player agreement.

“We’re really excited to get Cole signed,” Raiders general manager Curtis Hunt said in a statement. “He is a big centreman that posses tenacity, skill, and speed. We can’t wait to get him into a Raiders jersey.”

The 6’4″ and 190 lbs. forward currently leads in the Saskatchewan Midget AAA Hockey League in scoring with 49 points in 32 games for the league-leading Saskatoon Blazers.

After posting 15 points in 37 games last year, Nagy has increased his production in his sophomore midget campaign with 21 goals and 28 assists.

He also had eight points in six games at the Mac’s Midget Tournament in Calgary this past week as the Blazers made it to the semifinal round.

Nagy was originally picked by the Moose Jaw Warriors in the sixth round of the 2016 WHL Bantam Draft and was also a second round pick by the Nipawin Hawks in the SJHL Bantam Draft that same year.
