Charges pending for 3 suspects in Sunday night shooting

The Prince Albert Police Service (PAPS) responded to 343 calls this weekend, most of which were related to intoxication and disturbances. Officers made 54 arrests.

Shooting

Prince Albert police took three people into custody on Sunday night after responding to a shooting report.

Just after 9 p.m., police responded to the 1200 block of 17th Street West.

One man was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Shortly after, officers located a suspect vehicle in relation to the incident near 15th Street and Second Avenue West.

A chase headed southbound on Highway 11, assisted by Rosthern RCMP and the Saskatoon Air Support Unit.

They stopped the vehicle near Duck Lake and took two women and one man into custody. Police Service Dog Febee assisted in the arrest of the three suspects.

Charges are pending as police continue to investigate.

Aggravated assault

A 30-year-old man was transported to hospital on Saturday because of a gunshot wound in the leg.

Police were dispatched to the 1000 block of 13th Street West at about 1:30 p.m. for the report.

The investigation is ongoing.

Assault with weapon

Police Service Dog Febee helped track down a suspect damaging a business on Monday morning.

Police were called to a business near 15th Street and Second Avenue West after report that someone was damaging the building with a baseball bat.

Febee located an 18-year-old man nearby.

He is charged with assault with a weapon, mischief, resisting arrest and breach of a court order.

Home invasion

Police are investigating an alleged home invasion that occurred at about 7 p.m. on Sunday.

A woman reported two men entered her house on the 400 block of 20th Street East while she was making supper.

She said they assaulted her and stole a small amount of cash.
