Canada-wide warrant issued for suspect in Prince Albert homicide

The Prince Albert Police Service has issued a Canada-wide warrant for the arrest of Joseph Curtis Madden, who is charged in connection with the death of 21-year-old Madison Rene Bird-Simaganis. Madden has been charged with second-degree murder.

Bird-Simaganis died on Jan. 10 shortly after officers stopped a vehicle he was in on Jan. 10 and found him inside suffering from serious, life-threatening injuries. His death is Prince Albert’s first homicide of 2021.

Madden, who also uses the first name of Curtis, is described as 5-foot-6 and weighs about 140 pounds. He has a tattoo of a cross on his left hand between the thumb and forefinger and a tattoo of ‘Madden’ on his right forearm.
