Firefighters put out a serious blaze in the West Flat Thursday.

The Prince Albert Fire Department reported that their firefighters responded to a structure fire on the 800 Block of 18 Street West just after 6 pm. Their crews succeeded in putting out the main fire from outside the building.

They entered to search inside. No one was injured in the blaze, but the building sustained “significant damage.”

A battalion chief with fire department said that the blaze is being investigated. He declined to reveal whether the department views it as suspicious.

The building is located on a block that has already seen suspicious fires, including the blaze that followed the stabbing of Dylan Bennett last month. Just across the alleyway on 17 Street West sits another burnt-out house, as well as the home where a body was found two days ago.
