Newly published Alberta author finishes first book in seven-part historical saga

When Sharyl Rains started writing her debut novel two and a half years ago she didn’t expect that it would turn into a seven-part epic.

“I just kept writing and writing and writing and the book just kept getting bigger and bigger and bigger and I ended up cutting the book in half by like 400 pages because I amassed just so much,” the St. Albert, Alta. author said.

“I just kept getting more ideas and now I even have a prequel series set up as well. So in total there are going to be seven books for the entire saga… It is overwhelming, it definitely is. It’s a lot of storytelling and there’s a lot of material that I need to cover in order to get the whole story out right from beginning to end.”

Rains’ first published book, The Holy Tudors: Inheritance, was released earlier this year. It tells the story of descendants of the royal Tudor dynasty who are tasked to eternally safeguard the legendary Holy Grail.
