40 active COVID-19 cases between inmates, staff at Prince Albert Correctional as of Monday

There is a total of 40 active COVID-19 cases at Prince Albert Correctional as of Jan. 18, according to the provincial government.

Of those cases, 38 are inmates. 49 inmates and 13 staff members have recovered from the virus at Prince Albert Correctional Centre.

The Saskatchewan Health Authority declared an outbreak at Dorm C of the correctional centre on Dec. 16.

Pine Grove Correctional Centre has no active cases among staff and offenders. There are nine offenders and five staff members who have recovered from COVID-19 at Pine Grove.

As of Monday, Regina Correctional Centre had the highest number of active cases with 36 offenders and 11 staff members with COVID-19. A total of 105 offenders and 25 staff members have recovered from the virus at the centre.
