Wrong place, wrong time

Immediately after a “high-risk” firearms bust, police arrested a man who walked into their search carrying drugs on his person.

Members of the Integrated Street Enforcement Team, supported by SWAT, executed a search warrant Thursday on the 900 Block of 13 Street East. Three occupants surrendered peacefully and were taken into custody.

Another man showed up later, while officers were still searching the premises. Police searched him and found half a gram of methamphetamine, one hydromorphone pill and five card lock gas cards in his possession.

He was taken into custody and charged with possession of illegal drugs and stolen property, and with breaching a prior court order.

One of the three other occupants has charges pending, but has since been released. The investigation, originally meant to target firearms, found two rifles and ammunition.
