Woman accused in homicide has case adjourned

One of five people charged with first-degree murder in the death of 22-year-old Kristopher Charles had their case adjourned to April 23.

Lindsay Rae Hendersen made a brief appearance by video Monday. She wore her hair in a ponytail and stood with her arms crossed in front of her.

She was represented Monday by lawyer Estelle Hjertaas who indicated that while disclosure had been received from the Crown, the case would be farmed out to a private lawyer instead of being taken care of by Legal Aid.

The charges relate to a March 22 assault at a downtown apartment building. At about 3 p.m., police and paramedics responded to a complaint of an assault in progress.

When they arrived, they found a 22-year-old man in critical condition. He was transported to the hospital where he was later pronounced deceased. The victim and the suspects are known to each other.
