A lengthy drug trafficking investigation led to a large seizure of methamphetamine and of a cutting agent for cocaine.
On April 9, the Prince Albert Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit (CFSEU) completed a lengthy drug trafficking investigation that culminated with a vehicle stop near North Battleford. That stop led to the seizure of 2 kg of methamphetamine and $1,000 cash.
The CFSEU then executed five search warrants in Prince Albert and area that resulted in the seizure of two guns, ammunition, a money counter, drug trafficking paraphernalia and a large amount of a cocaine cutting agent.
Maggie Clarke, 22, has been charged with possession of methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking possession of property obtained by crime, careless storage of a firearm, possession of a firearm for a dangerous purpose, possession of a restricted weapon without a license and possession of a restricted firearm with readily accessible ammunition. She made a first appearance in court last week and was remanded for a Monday court date.
Anthony Grant Pederson, 33, has been charged with careless storage of a firearm x2, possession of a firearm for a purpose dangerous to the public peace, possession of a firearm without a license x2, possession of a restricted firearm with readily accessible ammunition and failure to comply with a recognizance x2. He is next due in court on Wednesday in Prince Albert.
Kassie Svendsen, 22, has been charged with careless storage of a firearm x2 and possession of a prohibited firearm without a license. She is due for her first appearance on April 24.
CFSEU is a province-wide integrated task force that investigates existing and emerging organized crime. Units are located in Regina, Saskatoon and P.A. and share a common mandate to target criminal organizations in an effort to disrupt and dismantle their operations.
