PA Royals score a win and a draw against Tisdale in home doubleheader

The Prince Albert Royals kicked off a busy week of baseball with a pair of matches against Tisdale at Andy Zwack Field on Monday night. The games started early and continued until nightfall.

The Royals came away from Game 1 with a 9-9 draw and won Game 2 by a 11-5 score. The doubleheader was called to make up for a match from earlier in the season that was cancelled due to inclement weather. This was the first time this season the Royals played two consecutive games on the same night.

“On a weeknight it’s tough because you kind of throw teenage boys out of a routine where they probably come home from school and have a snack or something to eat and then come to the game or practice,” Royals head coach Lance Alexander said.

“(Tonight) they came straight from school maybe had a chocolate bar or a granola bar and played and they were kind of famished and tired by the end, that’s for sure… It’s a long day of baseball after a day of school.”
