Water meter replacement program contractor rebrands

The company hired to complete the city’s water meter replacement program has a new name.

CORIX, which is installing the new meters on behalf of the city, is in the process of rebranding and transforming to ICONIX waterworks.

According to a press release, the rebrand will not impact the operations of the company or the project.

“The City would like residents to be aware of the change when they go to make appointments for their water meter replacements,” the city said in a press release.

Former website addresses are still valid and will direct people to the new ICONIX site.

“When a resident or business owner goes to make an appointment they will notice that the website and the personnel coming to their door will have the ICONIX brand,” said Cheryl Tkachuk, financial services director for the City of Prince Albert in a press release.

“We want residents to be aware so they are not alarmed when they see a brand that was different than the one originally included in the letter they received in April.”

The water meter replacement program is mandatory and was launched earlier this year. The new meters can be read remotely, removing the need for someone to access your property to take a reading. They can also provide real-time updates through a mobile application and will allow the city to bring in accurate monthly billing.
