RCMP have laid additional charges in connection to gun incidents that began in Montreal Lake Cree Nation and ended along Highway 2.

About two weeks ago, RCMP responded to an injured 16-year-old male with a gunshot wound in Montreal Lake.

Shortly after, officers stopped a suspect vehicle on Highway 2 near the Christopher Lake turnoff.

They found a deceased 25-year-old Trina Bird inside.

RCMP initially charged three men and, upon further investigation, two of them are facing more.

Wesley Eugene Lachance has additional charges of attempted murder, using a firearm during the commission of an offence, robbery using a firearm, theft of a motor vehicle and uttering threats.

Brandon Lee Corrigal’s additional charges are attempted murder, using a firearm during the commission of an offence, robbery using a firearm, theft of a motor vehicle, possession of a firearm while prohibited and breach of a probation order.

Both suspects’ next court appearances are scheduled for Friday in Prince Albert Provincial Court.

The investigation into Bird’s death is ongoing.
