Woman, 24, killed in single vehicle rollover

RCMP are investigating after a fatal rollover early Friday morning.

At 1:06 a.m. on Dec. 30, Rosthern RCMP were called to a single vehicle rollover on the Beardy’s and Okemasis First Nation, half a mile south of Hwy. 212 on a grid road.

The 24-year-old female passenger was transported to hospital in Saskatoon and pronounced deceased.

The 24-year-old male driver was treated for minor injuries.

Both occupants are from Beardy’s and Okemasis.

The investigation is ongoing.

Rosthern RCMP and an RCMP collision reconstructionist are working on the investigation.

P.A. police seize homemade taser

Prince Albert police have been arrested a local 27-year- old man after allegedly finding a homemade taser in his vehicle.

According to a media release, at about 1:30 a.m. on Dec. 30, officers on patrol spotted a suspicious vehicle parked in an alley in the 900 block of Central Avenue.

Officers saw the vehicle’s engine was off with people inside.

Upon further investigation, officers arrested one of the occupants on several outstanding warrants.

During the arrest, a homemade taser was allegedly located.

The man was taken into custody without incident.

The 27-year-old is facing 10 charges including possession of a prohibited weapon and breach of court orders.

He was scheduled to appear in court Friday morning.
