Residents evacuated after fire starts on third floor of Prince Albert apartment building

Residents were forced to evacuate an apartment building on the 100 block of Eighth Street East early Tuesday morning after a fire started in a third floor suite.

The Prince Albert Fire Department was able to contain the fire to that suite, but other suites and a main floor business received water and smoke damage.

All residents were evacuated safely without injury.  The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

Fire crews were called to the scene at around 3 a.m., where they discovered fire coming out of a third story window. The suite where the fire started is “severely damaged,” according to an update on the department’s Facebook page.
