A local media personality is facing allegations of aggravated assault and sexual assault.

Nigel Maxwell, former news director of paNOW.com, was taken into custody Wednesday on the charges. Maxwell is on leave from the station. According to paNOW, his leave is unrelated to the charges.

He appeared Thursday in Prince Albert provincial court, where he was released on a condition to have no contact with the complainant.

His next court date is set for July 13 at 1:30 p.m.
