British Columbia RCMP announced on Monday that the autopsies of two murder suspects show the two likely died by suicide from gunfire.
The autopsies also confirmed the bodies were in fact Kam McLeod, 19, and Bryer Schmegelsky, 18. When police found the bodies near Gillam, Manitoba on August 7, they said they were confident it was them.
Their next of kins have been notified and offered support.
The two were subjects of a Canada-wide manhunt as suspects in the deaths of three people.
RCMP said two firearms were located near their bodies and that they were likely deceased for several days before they were located.
However, they cannot confirm an exact date.
Investigators are currently looking into other items located in the area the men were found in hopes of getting more information on what happened to victims Leonard Dyck, Lucas Fowler and Chynna Deese.
When the investigation concludes in the next few weeks, officers will be updating their families and then making the information public.
