Ravndahl signs with Winterhawks

Jason Kerr/Daily Herald Portland Winterhawks prospect Rhett Ravndahl had three assists in five games for the Prince Albert Mintos last season.

Rhett Ravndahl is now officially a member of the Portland Winterhawks.

The 16-year-old from Birch Hills became the first member of Portland’s 2020 WHL Bantam Draft class to sign a standard player agreement with the club on Friday morning.

A fourth round pick by the Winterhawks, Ravndahl had 29 points in 31 games during the 2019-20 season for the North East Wolfpack and had three assists in five games for the Prince Albert Mintos last year during the shortened Saskatchewan Male Under-18 AAA Hockey League season.

If he doesn’t make Portland’s roster this fall, Ravndahl is expected to return to the Mintos for his sophomore campaign.

The Winterhawks, who finished second in the U.S. Division this spring, have two former Mintos on their roster in forwards Gabe Klassen and Kishaun Gervais.
