Province reports 56 new cases, no new deaths, and 2,217 more first doses administered

Provincial health officials reported 56 new COVID-19 cases on Friday, along with 52 recoveries and no new deaths.

The North Central Zone reported just one new case and three recoveries. There are now 57 active cases in the region, 38 of which are in Prince Albert. North Central Zone 1 has 15, while Zone 3 has four.

The Far North West reported six new cases and three recoveries. There are now 38 active cases in the region. The Far North East reported two new cases and one recovery. There are now 15 active cases in the region.

Far North Central reported two new cases and no recoveries. It now has three active cases.

The North East reported no new cases and one recovery, bringing their active case total to 14.

The Saskatoon Zone has the highest number of active cases with 143, followed by the Regina Zone with 141 and the North West with 60.

Far North Central has the lowest with three, followed by the South West with five and the North East with 14.

Saskatchewan has 78 patients in hospital with COVID-19, 12 of which are in intensive care. Two of those ICU patients are in North Central.

The province also announced 20,998 new vaccine doses administered, 2,217 of which were first doses. The number of residents ages 12 and older who have received their first dose remains unchanged at 69 per cent.

Saskatchewan has 353,286 fully vaccinated residents, including 25,355 in North Central.
