The Prince Albert Raiders were involved in the first deal of trade deadline day in the WHL Thursday.

In a depth move, the team acquired 17-year-old forward Bryce Bader and a conditional sixth round pick from the Calgary Hitmen in exchange for the rights to 17-year-old forward Quinn Olson and a conditional sixth round pick.

Bader, who is from Sherwood Park, Alta., was a second round pick by the Hitmen in the 2016 WHL Bantam Draft and has four goals in 10 games this year in his rookie campaign.

Olson, who was a sixth round pick by the Raiders in 2016, has spent the last two seasons with the AJHL’s Okotoks Oilers and has 95 points in 94 career games at the Junior A level.

The Calgary product is currently committed to play for the NCAA’s Minnesota-Duluth Bulldogs.

The WHL Trade Deadline is at 4 p.m. Saskatchewan time.
