Health officials reported 147 new COVID-19 cases on Monday, along with 266 recoveries and no deaths.
The province also announced 9,124 vaccine doses administered on Sunday, including 596 in North Central. Roughly 51 per cent of Saskatchewan adults have now received their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, including 61 per cent of those at least 30 years of age or older.
As of May 10, 46,393 residents are fully vaccinated.
The North Central Zone reported nine new cases and 17 more recoveries on Monday, bringing the area’s active case total to 188. Prince Albert reported two new cases, bringing the active case total to 85. North Central Zone 1 reported three new cases, bringing their active case total to 31, while Zone 3 reported four new cases, bringing their active case total to 72.
The Far North West Zone reported two new cases on Monday. Those were the only new cases in the entire far north.
The Far North West now has 77 active cases. The Far North East has seven, and Far North Central has none.
The North East Zone, which includes Melfort, Nipawin and Tisdale, reported six new cases and five more recoveries. There are now 50 active cases in the area.
Saskatoon reported the highest number of new cases with 43, followed by Regina with 35. The North West and South Central zones were tied for third with 11.
Saskatchewan has 2,141 active cases, including 507 in the Regina Zone and 504 in the Saskatoon Zone.
There are 156 patients in hospital with COVID-19, 37 of which are in intensive care. Three of those ICU patients are in North Central.
As of May 9, 8392 variants of concern (VOCs) have been identified in Saskatchewan, including 237 in North Central. Roughly 130 VOC cases have not been assigned to a zone.
Saskatchewan has reported an average of 204 new cases per day over the past week. That’s a decrease from the seven day average of 233 reported on May 3.
