Police seize weapons after locating suspect at Prince Albert home

A man on outstanding warrants is facing additional firearms charges after Prince Albert police located him at a home within the city.

Officers conducting an investigation located the 23-year-old on the 800 block of 13th Street West at about 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

The Special Weapons and Tactics Team (SWAT) and the Integrated Street Enforcement Team (ISET) located a sawed-off shotgun, three shotgun shells, two machetes and zip ties.

The suspect is scheduled to appear in provincial court on Friday morning.

59-year-old man arrested in separate call

Also on Wednesday night, the Integrated Crime Reduction Team arrested another man on outstanding warrants for assault and uttering threats.

Officers located the 59-year-old suspect at a home on the 1200 block of 17th Street West just before 11:30 p.m.

He’s facing additional charges related to drugs and firearms after police found a modified gun and ammunition inside of the residence.

Break and enter

A 50-year-old man has been charged with break and enter after patrol members, responding to a report of suspicious activity, caught the suspect in action.

Police were called to the 2700 block of Woodbridge Drive at about 5:20 a.m. on Thursday.
