The Prince Albert Police Service (PAPS) responded to 313 calls this Canada Day long weekend, 60 of them for intoxicated people and 33 for disturbances. They made 52 arrests.

Two of their calls involved assaults.

Officers charged two men involved in an incident where a woman was assaulted with a taser and robbed on Saturday night.

The 29-year-old woman said she was standing outside of a business on the 200 block of 9th Street East when it happened. She took the taser following the incident and gave it to police.

The suspects were later identified through a surveillance video.

Then, just before 1 a.m. on Monday, officers went to the 2800 block of 1st Avenue West near Kinsmen Park. They had received a complaint of a man and a woman fighting.

An 18-year-old man was arrested and charged with assault and flight from police.

He is scheduled to appear in Prince Albert court this week.
