Police investigating first homicide of 2019

The Prince Albert Police Service is investigating its first homicide of 2019.

The victim, a 27-year-old man, was assaulted in the alley of the 200 block of 12th Street East at about 1:15 a.m. last Saturday, Feb. 9. He died in a Saskatoon hospital.

An autopsy is expected to occur next week. Members from the criminal investigations division and forensic identification sections are “actively investigating this incident,” according to a media release.

Both sections will be working with the Office of the Chief Coroner.
