One person has died after a collision between a semi-truck and a car on Hwy 16.

The incident occurred about two km west of Kandahar on Friday, June 18 when an eastbound semi and westbound car collided. RCMP were called to the scene at around 12:45 p.m.

The lone occupant of the car, an adult male, was pronounced dead at the scene. The adult male semi-truck driver was taken to hospital as a precaution.

Police closed both lanes while an RCMP Collision Reconstructionist investigated. The highway reopened Friday evening.

Kandahar is located roughly 180 km east of Saskatoon.
