Police identify suspect in Wednesday shooting

Police have a suspect after a man went to hospital with a gunshot wound.

Officers began investigating after a man arrived at Victoria Hospital Wednesday evening with a non-life threatening gunshot injury. The 32-year-old had admitted himself to hospital.

Police confirmed that the shooting took place on the 4000 Block of 2 Avenue West.

According to the Prince Albert Fire Department, firefighters assisted by providing lighting at the scene of the shooting. Engine 14 and its crew set up lights and remained on the scene until police completed their investigation of the site.

Police say they have identified a suspect, but have not yet made an arrest. They do not believe the shooting is a “random incident,” and continue to investigate.
