Police arrest third suspect wanted in Sturgeon Lake extortion case

The Prince Albert Police Service (PAPS) has arrested a 24-year-old woman facing multiple charges following investigations in Sturgeon Lake and Prince Albert.

Officers arrested Brianna Forest of Prince Albert on Sunday, Feb. 11. Prince Albert RCMP have charged her with aggravated assault and forcible confinement while PAPS have charged her with assault with a weapon and theft of a motor vehicle. She made her first court appearance on Feb. 12.

Forest is one of three people accused of assaulting and attempting to extort a man in Strugeon Lake First Nation on Sept. 19, 2023. The man was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Ian Felix, 41, and Jared Naytowhow, 32, also face charges following an RCMP investigation into the case. Felix was arrested in Sturgeon Lake on Oct. 18, and made his first court appearance on Oct. 20. Naytowhow was arrested on Oct. 30 at a residence in Sturgeon Lake and made his first court appearance on Oct. 31.
