Several Prince Albert agencies assisted in the search for a missing two-year-old boy on Sunday, who was found safe.
Police received the report just after 11 a.m.—patrol members, a Canine Unit, the Police and Crisis Team (PACT), the Prince Albert Fire Department, Prince Albert Mobile Crisis, Prince Albert Grand Council (PAGC) Search and Rescue and Prince Albert North Search and Rescue quickly began looking.
The boy was located unharmed at a family friend’s residence in a short amount of time.
After investigating, police determined the child was never in danger.
The Prince Albert Police Service (PAPS) has signed memoranda of understanding (MOU) with the PAGC and the Search and Rescue Saskatchewan Association of Volunteers (SARSAV).
According to a news release, this is the first time this year that both agencies have assisted in a police investigation.
PAPS responded to 377 calls between Friday night and Tuesday morning, making 64 arrests. Their top two calls for service were intoxicated persons and disturbances.
