The Prince Albert Mintos want fans and spectators to bring a little bit extra to their Tuesday evening game against the Beardy’s Blackhawks.

Specifically, extra food – the kind you can’t eat in your seat.

The Midget AAA hockey team is hosting its annual food bank game at 7 p.m. at the Art Hauser Centre. During the game, the team will collect non-perishable food items and donate them to the Prince Albert Food Bank.

Fans and spectators who bring food for donation will be entered into a draw for door prizes, which will be handed out during the game.

The Blackhawks and the Mintos have met two of four times this season; the Mintos hold the series edge at two games to none.

Each game so far has been decided by a single goal. Along with Tuesday’s game, the highway 11 teams will meet again in the afternoon of Feb. 11.

The Mintos currently sit in fourth place in the 12-team, provincial Midget AAA league with 17 wins, four losses, two shootout losses and no overtime losses (17-4-2-0); the Blackhawks (8-10-2-2) are in ninth place.
